Bus is the primary public transportation available currently in Minneapolis Northwest. Metro Transit is the transportation resource for the Twin Cities, offering an integrated network of buses, light-rail, and commuter trains. Maple Grove transit offers commuter express service between Maple Grove and Minneapolis, as well as local service within Maple Grove. The Northstar Commuter line train runs through nearby Fridley, Coon Rapids, Anoka, Ramsey, and Elk River. The light-rail currently serves, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Mall of America, and the airport. Continuing light-rail service from downtown Minneapolis to Brooklyn Park is under development for 2021!
