Anoka Halloween

For all kinds of Halloween festivities, head to Anoka Halloween – the official Halloween Capital of the World! Anoka, Minnesota, is widely credited as the first city to host Halloween activities, organized by community leaders, in 1920. By 1937, it was declared the Halloween Capital of the World by congressional proclamation. For decades, the city has come together to host 12 days of seasonal fun for families and children of all ages. Go on a spooky and fun Ghosts of Anoka Walking Tour as a costumed guide leads you to several of the city’s most haunted places, and attend the Light Up the Night Parade with exciting floats and bands lit up in bright colors. Kids will surely enjoy pumpkin carving and decorating, a Halloween scavenger hunt, a community bonfire with treats and many opportunities to show off their costumes. Check Anoka Halloween’s website for a complete schedule of events this October.
