American Swedish Institute
The American Swedish Institute is a museum, historic home, and cultural center offering tours of the landmark 1908 Turnblad Mansion, special exhibits, family activities and events that connect people to contemporary Nordic culture and cultural heritage. The museum serves as a gathering place for all people to share experiences around themes of culture, migration, the environment and the arts, informed by enduring links to Sweden. It offers exhibitions from Sweden and the Nordic region, programming for youth and family, and in recent years, has expanded its performing arts offerings. The museum's restaurant, FIKA, was named "Best Lunch In Minnesota" by the Star Tribune in 2013 for its New Nordic cuisine.
