Entrepreneur, Trainer and 100% Drug Free NaturalPro Bodybuilder Benjamin Loehrer has grown Los Campeones from a single location to a thriving business with eight gyms across the Midwest and six franchise locations across the US. His model is to find properties that need fixing in diverse neighborhoods and revitalize the building with his own hard work so he can focus early investments in purchasing top rate equipment. His gyms have two to three times the amount of equipment than most gyms and his focus is catered to strength training, body building, power lifting as well as functional fitness training.
“We keep the monthly membership cost low to allow a wide and diverse range of people to join what we believe is the “Best Gym in Town”. My goal is to be a place where strength meets community and we’re seeing that growth at the Brooklyn Center location as we’ve already sold 300 memberships in the first month. Our goal is to have 3,000 members at this site with a nationwide community of 10,000 within the next few years,” Loehrer said.
According to a story that ran in the community paper the Sun Post, “Portions of Los Campeones' gyms are specifically catered towards powerlifters. A mirror-filled room is designed for competitive bodybuilders to practice their routines, and some machines offer much heavier weights than what can be found at other gyms.”
“We get some of the strongest people in the state coming here,” Senior Manager Evan Harris said. The gym also features an MMA fighting room and a section of artificial grass tuff, offering a variety of spaces for athletes to hone their skills.
Operations and Marketing Manager Christian Klemmensen emphasizes that Los Campeones welcomes people of all abilities and experience levels.
“The machines allow everyone to use them, so whether you're inexperienced or super, super advanced, you're gonna be able to figure it out and we're going to be able to help you,” Klemmensen said.
The management’s goal for the 35,000 square feet building is to employ 2-5 on-duty staff and up to 20 personal trainers, coaches and physical therapists. Loehrer concluded, “we want our gym to be a force for good and use our business to make the area better.”
Cable access station CCX Media did a follow up story on the Brooklyn Center gym shortly after it opened its doors in early December.
