Public Talk - You Don’t Need a Cave to Meditate In: Awakening in Everyday Life
Though we often think that meditation practice asks us to retreat from the world, the fabric of our ordinary lives and activities presents a tremendous opportunity to wake up. In this evening talk, Tergar instructor Myoshin Kelley will talk about the joys and challenges of exploring the path of awakening in everyday life, showing how we can discover a sense of deep calm and openhearted compassion without having to cut ourselves off from the world.
This evening includes a period of meditation, a time to share informally with the community, a short talk by the instructor and a period of open discussion on how we are working with these aspects of our lives. The evening is open to all, beginners and experienced meditators alike, and is a great opportunity for us to delve deeper as a community into the richness of bringing meditation into our everyday lives. Cost: This public talk is freely offered by the Tergar community. We are deeply grateful to our community members, who generously offer their time, energy, and financial contributions to make this possible.
