The Most Wonderful Time of the Year…It’s Here!

Thanksgiving is Thursday! And whether you already have decorations up or hold out for as long as possible, it is time to start prepping for the holidays. Minneapolis Northwest has some of the best events around to get you feeling merry and bright this holiday season!

If you’re gearing up for Black Friday, your first stop has to be The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes! The stores open at 8 a.m. (although some stores may open earlier) and you’ll find gifts for everyone on your list (including you)! If you spend $100 on Friday, Nov. 25 (like that will be hard), bring your receipts to Guest Services before 1 p.m. to receive a $20 Shoppes at Arbor Lakes gift card! Getting paid to shop is

a no brainer!

                         

Family Fun Zone

Don’t miss out on the Family Fun Zone! It’s a great way to keep the kids busy and allow them to burn off some energy! Featuring inflatables, movies, munchies, and more! Cost is $6 and includes unlimited access to inflatables. There will also be fun games to keep the kids entertained.

Dates: Friday, Nov. 25 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 26 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 27 from noon – 4 p.m.

Santa’s Magical Workshop

Free reindeer sleigh rides, petting zoo, a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, special events at the Fountains at Arbor Lakes businesses, bring your camera for photos with Santa, win prizes from Fountains merchants.

Time: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Location: The Fountains at Arbor Lakes (inside Dave & Buster’s and outside on their west parking lot)

 

Paint and Pose with Santa

Children will paint a holiday item and have the opportunity to visit Santa! They can paint either a tree frame, Santa mug, or two ornaments. Cost is $26 and includes item to paint and refreshments. Indoor Farmers Market

Celebrate the harvest and holidays with items for your celebrations and gift giving – seasonal produce, meats, breads, cheese, syrups, honey, jams, baked goods, apple cider and much more.

Date: Thursday, Dec. 1

Time: 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Location: Maple Grove Community Center

 

Holiday Décor Seminar

Join holiday décor expert Nancy Whitelaw for this lively and fun workshop. Cost is $35 – all materials provided including refreshments, hearty appetizers, coffee and wine.

Breakfast/Lunch with Santa

Families are invited to spend the morning having a relaxing breakfast or lunch before sharing their list of wishes with Santa. Bring your camera for your photo with Santa. There will be children’s novelty games, face painting, craft projects and a cake walk. Tickets are on sale online ONLY at www.maplegrovedays.org.

Skate with Santa

Hometown Holiday Celebration

Enjoy free carriage rides on Main Street, open houses at participating businesses, listen to choirs, visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and watch as Santa lights the tree! Experience the many fun family activities on Main Street.

Time: 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.

A Norwegian Christmas

Celebrate the holiday season on the farm with old-fashioned festivities and Norwegian traditions! Sing along with Christmas carolers, make an ornament or craft to take home, enjoy Christmas goodies fresh from the woodstove, try your skill on the kick sled, and visit with St. Nick. Holly Sunday

Your kids will have the chance to take photos with Santa, participate in crafts and the Candy Cane Walk, play bingo, get their faces painted, go on hayrides, see a magic show and experience the holiday tree lighting. There will be refreshments and holiday music!

Pet Photos with Santa

Don’t miss your chance to get your furry best friend’s photo taken with Santa! Reserve your space now by calling 763-424-0504 x0. Cost is $20 and includes a digital image and gift bag. All proceeds (100 percent) benefit Good Karma Animal Rescue of MN.

The Enchanted Christmas Ball
