Suburban St. Patrick’s Day for the Win

Saint Patrick’s Day IS ALMOST HERE. To some it might seem like a frivolous holiday. To others it is a beloved tradition. Either way, isn’t it a great reason for everyone to come together over great food, green beer, and laughter? Yes! So, whether you’re Irish, or just Irish for the day, Minneapolis Northwest is your suburban St. Patrick’s Day celebration destination!

The Lookout is kicking things off on Thursday, March 16th, with a Seniors Luncheon featuring delicious Irish food, live traditional Irish music, Irish dancing, and drink specials. Friday March 17th, is when the celebrations at The Lookout truly begin! Starting at 11am there will be a second Seniors Luncheon with traditional Irish fare. Paddy O’Brien will be playing live traditional Irish music from 12pm to 3pm with Irish dancing as well! 3pm is when the Irish party music starts, complete with Irish beers, green beer games and St. Patrick’s Day menu specials. Bonus: No cover charge!

But that’s not all. Irish dancing will continue into the evening and at 6:30pm The Lookout will host a green wing eating contest! Can you eat the most? Find out. Then hang out after as the party continues into the wee hours of the morning!

On Saturday March 18th, continue the celebration starting at noon with the St. Patrick’s Day Volleyball League and enjoy specials on Irish beers, green beer and St. Patrick’s Day menu specials ALL DAY.

We also happen to have one of the BIGGEST St. Patrick’s Day parties anywhere at The Claddagh Irish Pub & Restaurant in Maple Grove. There isn’t any waiting around for the action to begin, Kegs & Eggs starts at 9am featuring live music from Too Broke Blokes from 9:30am to 12pm. The live entertainment doesn’t stop there. Next up is Sister Tree from 12pm to 3pm; Rince Nua Irish Dancers at 2pm and 3pm; Bagpipes from 3pm to 4pm; music from Broken Fiddle from 4pm to 7pm; Shane Martin from 7pm to 10pm; and then a house DJ takes over from 10pm to close. It is an all-day party that you don’t want to miss! There is a $5 cover charge starting at noon, but it’s a small price to pay for celebrating the holiday to the fullest. Did we mention that it feels like you’re in an Irish castle?

Claddagh will also keep the party rolling into Saturday at the Post Paddy’s Day. There will be live music from 12pm to 9:30pm and then a house DJ from 10pm to close!

The best (and most responsible) way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day is to book a room at any one of our awesome hotels! You’ll be happy you have a comfortable place to rest that is just minutes away from all the fun.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

P.S. The Lookout and Claddagh are the only places in the world (probably) with CONFIRMED leprechaun sightings, as evidenced throughout this post. Come see for yourself!
