Kicking off the event on Friday, August 16th, Alumni will have a special opportunity to come together at the assembled Gus Macker courts that will envelop the North Hennepin Community College (NHCC) parking lots for the weekend. Playing that night will be a special Heroes game comprised of local firefighters, police, EMT, and other everyday heroes.

The opening ceremony will kick off the weekend tournament on Saturday, August 17 at 8:30AM with music, dancing and the National Anthem performed by local artists and high school students.

The Dream Court is the main stage for the contests such as the three point, free throw, MACKER (much like the game of HORSE), celebrity game, mascot game and the much anticipated Slam Dunk contest that will award a grand prize of $500 and a second place prize of $100.

Derray Ward; a coach, community leader, entrepreneur, and the founder of Forward Thinking Foundation is the lead coordinator for the Special Events. Coincidentally he is an alumni of NHCC, the host location of the Macker Tournament. Derray has put together a great lineup of local and national celebrities to be a part of the Twin Cities Gus Macker including:

We will update this posting as more names are confirmed!
