Halloween is just around the corner and there's plenty of family-friendly events coming up in Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park and Maple Grove.
Northwest Minneapolis Tourism has compiled a list of upcoming events that families can attend.
Halloween Family Fun Day -- Weaver Lake Park (Sat., Oct. 19): Check out monster inflatables, the Enchanted Castle, Witches Ring Toss, pumpkin rolling and more. Kids also have a chance to get creative at the craft table and scream their lungs out at the Scream Contest. This family fun event is for children ages 2-8, cost $5 per child. Children under two are free. Costumes encouraged!
Twin Cities Harvest Festival and Maze -- Brooklyn Park (weekends through Oct. 27): For an authentic autumn experience, wind your way through Minnesota's largest maze. Try to find the trivia questions throughout the maze – answer all of them and turn in your guesses for a chance to win a prize. The festival also features a petting zoo, pumpkin slinger, giant corn kernel pit, pony rides, a gunny sack slide, pumpkin patch, live music, fair food and more.
Trick-or-Treat Geocaching -- Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park (Sat. Oct. 26): Wear your costumes and learn the basics of geocaching while searching for hidden treats around the park. This event is $5 and reservations are required by two days prior. Ages 17 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Trick-or-Treat Spooktacular -- Zanewood Rec. Center (Thurs., Oct. 31): Have a spooktacular FREE time trick-or-treating in Brooklyn Park! All kids up to age 14, enjoy games, treats, inflatables, crafts, music, bingo and more.
