“Punch has been successful in part by being patient about our growth.  We can wait for the best locations in the market, and grow organically,” co-owner, John Puckett said. “We’re committed to grow in a purposeful manner to ensure that we have market leading service, food quality and locations and provide growing opportunities for our great staff.”

Punch opened its eighth store in Woodbury earlier this year, and has been successful in other Twin Cities suburbs of Wayzata and Eden Prairie.

Punch is known for its award-winning authentic Neapolitan Pizza cooked at 800 degrees utilizing the same centuries-old techniques that Neapolitan masters use to create a truly authentic pizza. The world’s finest Italian tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and top-secret dough form the foundation of the pizza, but the true craft is in mastering the wood fired ovens.

Punch is one of the first pizzerias in the U.S. to be part of an association in Naples, Italy of pizzerias dedicated to preserving authenticNeapolitan Pizza.  Dough must be shaped by hand with its only ingredients flour, yeast and water; sauce must be 100% crushed Italian tomatoes without additives; and cheese must be the highest quality fresh mozzarella. Also, pizzerias that belong to this organization must use only traditional wood-burning brick ovens, never gas imitations.

“Our goal remains that Punch Pizza quality is equal with the most renowned pizza in Naples, Italy, “ said Punch founder and co-owner John Soranno.  “We also feel that we can utilize the incredible management skill and depth we have built to grow a bit faster.  Customers travel for miles to enjoy Punch Pizza, and we appreciate their loyalty.  Growing in Maple Grove will bring jobs and Punch’s authentic pizza and salads to a new community.”
