Build Your Own Adult Summer Camp
If you ever went to summer camp as a kid, it is probably one of your favorite childhood memories.
These days with work, bills, and other adult responsibilities piling up, you may find yourself wistfully dreaming of those camp years. Well, now places like Camp No Counselors are making it possible for adults to experience camp again, but with one grown-up addition: alcohol. Summer camp for grownups has become one of the hottest travel trends and one million adults went to camp last summer!
There is not such a camp here in the Twin Cities (yet), but there is enough adventure surrounding Minneapolis Northwest to DIY your own adult summer camp weekend with friends. Here’s how:
|Breakfast & setup camp at Elm Creek Park Reserve’s cabins ($60/night)|
|9:00am- 11:00am Morning Activity Block 1:||Bike ride to Coon Rapids Dam and hike along the Mississippi River|
|11:00am-1:00pm Morning Activity Block 2:||Choose between archery and mountain biking at Elm Creek; or go to Fish Lake Regional Park for canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding & swimming|
|2:00pm-5:30pm Afternoon Activity Block:||A zip lining adventure at Kerfoot Canopy Tour or rent a party boat on Lake Minnetonka|
|7:30pm-9:30pm:||Back at camp, DIY giant lawn games or relay races|
|9:30pm- 2:00am:||Bonfire party|
On day two, do whatever activities you didn’t do the first day!
