Minneapolis Northwest is your Day-Off Destination

If you’re wondering what to do with your children on their day off from school, there are plenty of fun ways to spend the day in Minneapolis Northwest!

It won’t matter what our unpredictable weather is up to if you plan to spend some time in our community centers.

Community Centers

Maple Grove Community Center has a gymnasium, ice arena, the Maple Maze Indoor Playground, and the Grove Aquatic Center, which are guaranteed to wear out even the most energetic children!

Brooklyn Park Community Center has a phenomenal ice arena where your everyone can live out all their ice skating, hockey-playing fantasies.

Brooklyn Center Community Center is a great place to take your children and let them swim the day away! With an indoor 50-meter swimming pool and an exciting 150-foot water slide, the fun never has to end (and the temperature in the pool area will make you feel like you’re on vacation).

Outdoor Fun

Elm Creek Park Reserve is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream! Get in on the action and head down the hill on a tube or snowboard (all available to rent). If downhill isn’t your favorite, there’s always cross-country skiing to get you moving outdoors.

Central Park Ice Skating Loop in Maple Grove is one of the few ice trails in the country. Take advantage of this new, well-maintained, unique trail. You can rent skates and buy snacks, your children will love it!

Maybe having a day off from school and work so soon after the holidays is a good time to put your gift cards to use. The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes have everything you need this winter, whether it’s new clothes from Francesca's or some new accessories for you and your home from Good Things or Pottery Barn. They’ve got it all!

A Little Farther From Home

The Minnesota Zoo is fun for the whole family and kids don’t even realize they are learning!

Nickelodeon Universe at Mall of America knows a thing or two about entertaining the young (and the young at heart)! Let your kids share their favorite rides with you!

Indoor Adventures

If the weather is bad there are plenty of ways to spend some quality time indoors!

Dave & Buster’s has delicious children-friendly food and games, which means you have everything you need for the entire day. Plus, playing all those games is good for working on children’s hand-eye coordination (trust us).

Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park will provide entertainment for all sizes and ages! They offer a variety of fun, physical activities and games to play on their patented three-dimensional walled playing surface.

AMC Theatres Arbor Lakes 16 is a nice, temperature-controlled way to spend a few hours on your day off. Right now is a great time to see a movie with the family, they are showing “Sing”, “Moana”, and “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”.

Brunswick Zone XL is a child’s (and adult’s) bowling, laser tagging, game-playing fantasy! You won’t hear “I’m bored”, we promise.

Color Me Mine is a creative and relaxing way to spend a day off. You and your children can choose what to paint and how to paint it. Then you can take the memories home with you!

Too many great ideas for one day? We also happen to be a great place to spend an entire weekend (or longer). Bring the family and make memories in Minneapolis Northwest!
